Welcome To Unity Elementary School
We believe in educational outcomes and the growth of the whole child through challenging instruction and varied experiential learning opportunities. At UES we believe that students learn best when they are motivated by their own natural curiosity and guided by experienced educators to explore and expand their base of knowledge.
Pre K thru 5th grade students will build a firm foundation of knowledge, exploring Reading, Math, Science, PE, Art, Music, Library/Technology, and Guidance from core instructional and speciality teachers. Grades 6-8 build upon this base with more rigorous and detailed instruction and expectations in ELA, Social Studies, Math, Science, PE and Health along with specials. This is all in preparation of students continuing education and for a Capstone project and presentation due before their transition to High School.
UES is a school that believes in opportunities for learning not only in the classroom but also within our community, our partnerships and in encouraging civic engagement.
We accomplish this by our many and expanded learning opportunities in STEM, in the field and forest, on the stage and in the auditorium, community luncheons and in the physical and mental challenge of our rope and climbing features. UES strives to prepare our students for both the smooth and the uneven roads ahead!
We welcome and use technology as grades K-8 are provided with chromebooks. We utilize only data driven and proven instructional applications like iReady along with Smart Boards for student instruction in every classroom. UES will always continue to expect our students to read and analyze physical books and primary source documents in order to promote a lifelong learning mindset, an expanding vocabulary, a deeper understanding of humanity, technical subjects and the world that stretches before them.
The Unity School Board along with the Unity PTA are our most valued partners as we strive for academic excellence for all students.
Unity Elementary School is proud to be a New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accredited institution.
